Q. Is there a minimum amount of memory you need to install in order to use the Aero Features?
A. Microsoft generally recommends a minimum of 1GB of dual-channel memory to enable the Aero interface. Kingston®
suggests at least 2GB of memory to enhance system performance and provide memory performance headroom for future applications.
Q. Does the memory have to be installed in pairs to take advantage of Vista features like Aero?
A. Yes, dual-channel memory provides the best memory performance and speeds up many applications as well as enabling Aero in
systems without advanced graphic cards or graphic chips built-in.
Q. Will there be different memory requirements for each Vista version released?
A. While there are basic minimum recommendations for the various Vista releases, Kingston recommends that you install at least
2GB of memory, and take advantage of dual-channel memory (by installing matched module pairs in the paired channel memory sockets)
for performance and future headroom. The typical user will rely on the new Vista system for 3 or more years, and applications will
integrate more advanced features requiring greater system performance.
Q. Does Kingston have any recommendations for memory capacity by user for Vista?
A. Kingston recommends that you install at least 2GB of memory, and take advantage of dual-channel memory (by installing matched module pairs in
the paired channel memory sockets) for performance and future headroom. The typical user will rely on the new Vista system for 3 or more years,
and applications will integrate more advanced features requiring greater system performance.
