Press Releases 2007 - Local Media
Hsinchu, Taiwan (January 31, 2007) Kingston® Technology, the independent world leader in memory
products, announced today the RED Donors Day @ Heights with Kingston - GIVE a Little, SAVE a Life! blood donation
campaign, which will be launched at Braddell Heights Community Club, Multi-purpose Hall, Level 1, on February 11th, 2007,
from 10am to 4pm.
To raise awareness about the need for blood donation, Kingston runs this campaign as there is currently a blood drought
period in Singapore. Expecting more than 200 donors, Kingston sets up the venue at Braddell Heights Community Club,
organized by the Womens Executive Committee of Braddell Heights Community Club and supported by The Singapore Red Cross.
This will be a very meaningful event to organize just before our Lunar Chinese New Year.
The first 200 donors will receive free Kingstons goodies bags, including 2 mandarin oranges and a Kingston polo shirt,
and stand a chance to take part in the sure-win Kingstons lucky dip and bring home valuable shopping or food voucher or
Kingstons 2GB SD card or a 1GB miniSD card. Donors and residents can also participate in the various activities during
the event. Special contest, free photo opportunities with the iconic Blood Buddy mascot at selected time slots, free
ice cream and popcorns will be given away too.
RED Donors Day @ Heights with Kingston is the first blood donation drive in Singapore. said Scott Chen, Vice President,
APAC Business Development, Kingston. We are delighted to organize such a meaningful event and reach out to the local
community, added Chen.
Mr. Bryan Mah, Blood Donor Recruitment Programme, Singapore Red Cross, said Singapore Red Cross is grateful to Kingston
Technology for their support during this time. The Chinese New Year period has always been a challenge to blood donor
recruitment. Organising a bloodmobile prior to the Chinese New Year holidays will help ensure adequate supply of safe
blood for the patients in the hospitals. We hope more companies would support the blood programme pre and post festive
holidays, like what Kingston Technology does.
Braddell Heights Community Club, Womens Executive Committee (WEC) Chairman, Mrs. Irene Tong said, We thank you Kingston
Technology, our exclusive sponsor, for making this meaningful blood donation event a possible one at Braddell Heights
Community Club. WEC is proud to be the organizer for this event with great support from The Singapore Red Cross. We hope
and urge more people who are eligible to come forward and make a meaningful life-saving gift before the festive Lunar New
Year to help those needy who are in need of blood transfusion.
