ISO 9001 Compliance Statement
Quality Management System
The Kingston Technology Headquarters in the United States has been continuously ISO 9001 certified since its initial assessment in 1994.
ISO 9000 originated in Europe in response to the growing market need for a set of standardised guidelines for quality management and quality assurance.
It is currently adopted in over 90 countries and applies to a wide selection of industries.
Its certification is used as a means to identify companies that visibly focus on and commit to ensuring the best possible products and services for their customers.
It is a completely voluntary certification that is achieved only through a rigorous registration audit and regular external surveillance audits by third party ISO assessors.
Kingston undergoes regular audits by third party ISO assessors, customers, suppliers, and its own employees. The results of these audits are utilized to improve and strengthen our quality management system.

OHSAS 18001 Compliance Statement
Kingston is dedicated to providing a healthy and safe work environment for employees, contractors and visitors worldwide.
Kingston adheres to all applicable local, regional and national regulatory requirements related to OHSAS 18001.
OHSAS 18001 is the Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Series for health and safety management systems.
It is intended to help an organisation control occupational health and safety risks.
It was developed through cooperation between leading international standards organisations in response to widespread demand for a recognised standard against which to be certified and assessed.
While the standard does not contain specific performance requirements, it does include requirements for commitment to the management of hazards and risks, as well as compliance with regulatory requirements.
Kingston implemented a variety of programmes and processes, including ergonomics, machine guarding, lockout/blockout and the use of personal protective equipment to achieve greater protection and to prevent the occupational injury and illness of its employees, contractors and visitors.
All employees are committed to identifying and reporting safety concerns and are involved in implementing solutions for any potential hazard.

Section 508 Compliance
What is Section 508?
Section 508 is an amendment to the US Rehabilitation Act of 1973, (29 U.S.C. 794d).
Section 508 requires that when Federal agencies develop, procure, maintain or use electronic and information technology, Federal employees with disabilities have access to and use of information and data that is comparable to the access and use by Federal employees who are not individuals with disabilities, unless an undue burden would be imposed on the agency.
Section 508 also requires that individuals with disabilities, who are members of the public seeking information or services from a Federal agency, have access to and use of information and data that is comparable to that provided to the public who are not individuals with disabilities, unless an undue burden would be imposed on the agency.
How does Section 508 apply to Kingston products and services?
All of Kingston's services, memory and flash products are Section 508 compliant.
When dealing with or selling to Federal Agencies, Kingston can sell with confidence in regards to Section 508. The performance requirements of this section are intended for overall product evaluation and for technologies or components for which there is no specific requirement under the technical standards in Subpart B. These criteria are designed to ensure that the individual accessible components work together to create an accessible product.
They cover operation, including input and control functions, operation of mechanical mechanisms and access to visual and audible information.
These provisions are structured to allow people with sensory or physical disabilities to locate, identify and operate input, control and mechanical functions and to access the information provided, including text, static or dynamic images, icons, labels, sounds or incidental operating cues.
The standards also address access to all information, documentation and support provided to end users (e.g. Federal employees) of covered technologies.
This includes user guides, installation guides for end-user installable devices, and customer support and technical support communications.
Such information must be available in alternate formats upon request at no additional charge.
Alternate formats or methods of communication can include Braille, cassette recordings, large print, electronic text, Internet postings, TTY access, and captioning and audio description for video materials.
If you have any questions regarding our compliance with Section 508, please feel free to contact Kingston's Compliance Department
Shipping Compliance
The European Union, China and Australia now require that all Non-Manufactured Wood Packing Material (NMWP) originating in the United States, Canada or Japan must be treated and marked before being allowed into their countries to prevent the introduction of the pinewood nematode eelworm.
NMWP includes wooden pallets and/or crates that might be used to transport products to customers in those locations.
As only a small percentage of Kingston's products are shipped by wooden pallet, rather than treat our existing wooden pallet inventory, Kingston has changed its shipping process to accommodate these new regulations.
Effective immediately, Kingston will use plastic pallets instead of wood-based pallets when pallet shipments are necessary to the European Union, China and Australia.
If you have any questions regarding this change, please feel free to contact our Compliance Department.
Conflict Minerals Commitment
Kingston shares the concern of our customers that the sources of minerals used in the manufacture of our product are not considered “conflict minerals”.
Conflict minerals pertain to certain minerals (such as tin and gold) that are mined in countries where conditions of armed conflict and human rights abuses are reported to be occurring; most notably in eastern provinces of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC).
Our commitment to address this concern includes a two-step approach.
- Kingston has taken steps to ensure that the materials purchased and used in our manufacturing process (such as solder paste) that contain minerals (such as tin) are free of conflict minerals.
Kingston has written assurances from all of its suppliers of metal alloy materials used in the manufacturing process of Kingston products that the minerals and raw materials do not originate from the DRC or other nations or regions in violation of human rights.
- Kingston is also working with our supply chain to ensure that the purchased components used in our products are free of materials containing conflict minerals (such as gold and tin).
We are asking that our suppliers support our concern and we are involved in an ongoing initiative to collect the necessary supporting data and applicable evidence as part of our due diligence.
