About the Real Terra Cotta Warriors!

The Terra Cotta Warriors of China, which guard the tomb complex of China's First Emperor, Qin Shi Huang (259-210 BC), are considered to be among the greatest archaeological finds of the 20th century. Thousands of terra cotta warriors were made and buried with the Emperor in his tomb, to protect him throughout eternity.

Since their discovery in 1974 by local farmers, the terra cotta figures have been termed the "Eighth Wonder of the Ancient World." Dating from 210 BC, they were discovered near Xi'an, Shaanxi province in China near the Mausoleum of the First Qin Emperor. The figures vary in height (184-197cm or 6ft-6ft 5in), according to their role; the generals are the tallest.

The figures include warriors, chariots, horses, officials, acrobats, strongmen, and musicians. More than 7,000 figures have been discovered and can be viewed in China, or at special installments throughout the world.
