Roberts Testimonial
Bruce Pallman is extremely pleased with the business relationship he has enjoyed with Kingston since 2005 and values
the reputation the Kingston brand offers to his operation as well as his customers. "Kingston has provided our customers with
a very competitive pricepoint and with its reputation in the computer memory business, our customers are taking advantage of
lower price points with greater confidence. Quality is never an issue even though Kingston is relatively new to the Flash
media business," continues Pallman. "They are the perfect business partner – responsive, easy to work with and they always
return phone calls. The combination of a respected brand, a high quality product line and amazing customer service, Kingston
easily meets all the requirements we seek when looking for new manufacturing partners. They are simply the type of organization
we enjoy doing business with." - Read Full Testimonial
Midwest Photo Exchange Testimonial
"I wanted to pick one card to be our house brand, and when Kingston came on the scene, they had an extremely good sales rep
I was working with so I thought I'd give it a shot. So I tried it and slowly I began to notice that I never got any cards back
from my customers, which is unusual. With the other memory card companies, I would always get at least a few back that were
defective but with Kingston I never had a bad one, ever. They're extremely reliable. And as my customers know, I will not sell
anything to anybody unless I can say it's reliable." - Stuart Applebaum of the Midwest Photo Exchange

47th Street Photo
A Name You Can Trust Turns to a Brand You Can Trust – Kingston Technology
If you've lived in the New York area in the last 40 years and have purchased photography equipment, you likely know the name 47th Street Photo. A stalwart in the photo retail market since 1965, the company once operated three locations in New York City and Long Island including its flagship store on – yes, you guessed it – 47th Street in Manhattan.
Today, those "brick n' mortar" stores are no longer around but the name 47th Street Photo lives on as one of the largest online photo dealers in the country. The company still keeps its corporate headquarters in Brooklyn, but all business is now done via mail order and the Internet at www.47stphoto.com.
"When the online and ‘dot com' boom happened we jumped on board in 1999 and have never looked back," said Ron Cohen, C.E.O of 47th Street Photo.
Though online competition has been fierce, 47th Street Photo has something many of its competitors don't – a trusted reputation.
"We're one of the few online photo retailers out there who has an established recognized name. Many people have told me over the years: ‘My father bought my first camera from you,'" Cohen says. "Some people are skeptical about buying their photo products online because there are a lot of fraudulent dealers out there, but 47th Street Photo is a name they know already and trust."
Along with its reputation, 47th Street Photo offers competitive pricing, great customer service and niche products such as camera flashes, lenses, filters, tripods and other accessories that they build to their own specs and sell at a reduced price.
Turning to Kingston
Another place where 47th Street Photo's customers get added value is when purchasing memory cards. Now an official Kingston Technology dealer, 47th Street Photo carries Kingston's CompactFlash and SD (Secure Digital) Cards along with Kingston's USB Flash drives and its card readers. Cohen says he's also seriously considering adding Kingston computer memory to his lineup.
"We carry almost every one of their SKUs," said Cohen. "We sell laptop computers and lots of people want to upgrade their system memory. Kingston is a natural fit since memory modules is where the company first made its name."
Though Cohen has known about Kingston's reputation for selling quality computer memory for quite some time, he heard about their memory solutions for digital photography when a Kingston sales rep paid a visit to him.
"They had a very good product line and the pricing was very aggressive," he recalls. "They also seemed to be marketing their product correctly so I thought I'd give them a shot. I'm glad I did. Right now we're moving a tremendous amount of memory for Kingston."
Cohen estimates he sells about 3,000 pieces of Kingston memory a month and has a return rate of "zero."
"We haven't had a single problem with their memory. It's amazing," he says. "Even though price is an issue for customers and they can save money by buying Kingston, it's not the biggest issue. The biggest issue is reliability. And when you put those two together with Kingston's products – it's a winning combination."
47th Street Photo has found great success in selling digital camera bundles, which along with the camera include a package of accessories such as a cameras bag, an extra battery and a tripod. For the memory cards included in these bundles, 47th Street Photo has chosen Kingston's products.
"We had to pick one brand and they're it," he says. "Kingston has become our premiere memory card."
Shared Thinking
Cohen notes that Kingston's 512 MB and 1 GB SD cards have been the most popular items but he's selling plenty of CompactFlash cards as well and is anxious to start stocking the new Kingston 8 GB CompactFlash Elite Pro card.
"For other dealers considering Kingston's products, the zero return rate alone is a huge thing besides offering prices that are very competitive."
Online dealers like 47th Street Photo are always looking for an edge to put them ahead of the competition. As a form of research, Cohen does all his shopping online, from contact lenses to sneakers and toothpaste.
"I do my homework," he notes. "I like to see how other sites do everything, from the moment I place my order to the packaging and the invoicing."
For Cohen, Kingston's products have given him an edge online. He added that the company has been extremely easy to work with as well, noting that Kingston and 47th Street Photo are going to collaborate on a cross-promotional ad campaign.
"There's no corporate stuffiness with Kingston. They want business to flow and they like to think outside the box, which is exactly the way we operate. So it's a great match."
