Use Your Mobile Phone for Video Sales Presentations
By Moblisser
Mobile Phone: Nokia (various models)
Software: Nokia MultiMedia Player
Mobile Expansion Memory: Kingston 512-MB miniSD card
One of my friends recently told me that his Nokia mobile phones have been instrumental in sharing information with
his customers (and potential buyers), especially when he is out in the field.
My friend Mark works as an outside sales representative for an electronics company in Chicago. He frequently travels
from town to town to meet with the buying representatives from various companies who may (or may not) have heard about
the products that his company manufactures.
Mark knows that video presentations are a great sales tool but he found toting a portable computer rather inconvenient
when meeting with customers, sometimes on the go and outside the office. He decided to convert his company plant tour
and sales presentation videos from his PC onto a miniSD card for use on several of his Nokia mobile phones. (He's a
techie kind of guy and has a number of Nokia models including: the Nokia 9300i, 9300, 9500, N90, N70, 6270, 6680, 6681,
6600, 6630, 7710, 3320 and the new 770 Internet tablet).
He said the conversion process was actually quite easy when using the new Nokia Multimedia Player. There is software
that can be purchased to do the same thing, but the Nokia Multimedia Player is provided at no extra cost to the mobile
phone user and gets the job done.
Using the original .mpg video files, Mark was able to convert the presentations into ".3gp" format (compatible with
Nokia Multimedia Player).
This is what he did:
Open a file with Nokia Multimedia Player and click on the "Convert" option and then the "Save" button:
Then just "Save" the file in the target resolution and the Nokia Multimedia Player will convert the file into the correct format for viewing the video on the mobile phone.
The whole process took only a few minutes and you were easily guided by the Nokia Multimedia Player.
After the manufacturing plant and sales presentation video files were saved on his PC, Mark transferred them to a Kingston miniSD card for safekeeping and later use in the miniSD slot of his Nokia mobile phone.
This has proven an invaluable mobility tool for Mark and his success at work. He now has the flexibility to close more
deals by being able to show potential customers the presentations on the fly –- in a virtual tour format from his phone.
So rather than just talk about his company's facilities and how the products are made, he can show them.
