FAQs
Issue: KHX-0140010-7 |
I've seen your HyperX modules in the store or on the Kingston website and I've noticed that
there are several different part numbers. Is there a difference between the part numbers that are in a kit and the
parts that sold individually?
|
| Resolution: |
Yes. Parts sold in kits (denoted by "K2" in the part number, e.g. – KHX3200K2/1G) are specifically paired for use
in Dual Channel motherboards such as the Asus P4C800, Intel D865PERL and D875PBZ. Although Dual Channel technology
resides on the motherboard itself (inside the chipset), the memory modules need to be installed in pairs for
Dual Channel mode to function properly. Identical modules paired in a kit work best because the motherboard
will be accessing both memory modules as a single rank. Kingston suggests the use of paired modules sold in
kits for Dual Channel enabled motherboards.
