JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: European Product Marketing Manager - SSD
Reporting to: Jim Selby
Effective date: October 2009
Department: Marketing
Location: Sunbury-on-Thames
Working hours: 40 hours per week
Position Summary: Provide product management, product marketing, and business management for Kingston’s SSDNow product range across multiple market sectors EMEA wide. Ensuring the successful development, promotion and maintenance of these products to both internal and external audiences.
Essential Functions:
  1. Act as champion for Kingston’s SSDNow product range across multiple market sectors EMEA wide (including, but not limited to Corporate end user, integrator and Consumer), to address any issues affecting the success of the range.
  2. Close liaison with other marketing team members and colleagues in other departments to ensure appropriate focus on the SSDNow product line. This could mean being involved with the sign-off of packaging designs, compliance with legal requirements, show and event organisation, liaising with PR contacts and project management of special projects for example.
  3. Act as liaison between Kingston-Europe and Kingston-U.S.A. with regard to any SSDNow issues. Understand the product roadmap and its associated technology developments, the U.S. direction, plans and activities and communicate those of EMEA.
  4. Ensure alignment to Kingston U.S. (when appropriate), by leveraging / co-developing marketing activity, and materials as appropriate to support needs of sales and channel marketing colleagues.
  5. Collate and present EMEA product / market requirements to Kingston U.S. product marketing team as appropriate, in order to influence marketing collateral, product development and product focus.
  6. Ensure that all field sales, customer service, marketing, and inside sales colleagues are trained on the SSDNow product range and informed of technological or industry developments for their relevant markets.
  7. Define SSDNow product propositions for EMEA markets
  8. Support field sales colleagues with product and market trends presentations and customer pitches. Attend customer meetings and events to present when necessary.
  9. Create and maintain a wide range of marketing materials aimed at differing markets (either direct or indirect), that support the needs of sales and marketing colleagues.
  10. Create, maintain and monitor an SSDNow specific product ‘Dashboard’, created by using internal and external sources of market data.
  11. Actively seek out promotional ideas to add value to Kingston’s SSDNow product range. Evaluate, develop and submit these ideas to relevant colleagues in Kingston US and EMEA for possible production.
  12. Create and keep updated a rolling 3 month product roadmap.
  13. Assess possibilities of potential brand alliances.
  14. Perform other work related duties as assigned.

Education /
Qualifications:
Good general standard of education Relevant CIM or equivalent training
Experience /
Knowledge:
Essential:
Minimum five years of computer industry experience in a product management role.

Preference to candidates who have experience within the data storage market.

Experience of working with, and communicating to, multiple levels of the computer industry sales channels. Must have the motivation to seek out and monitor industry, market and technological developments (current and future).
Desirable:
Experience of working in a multi-cultural, multi-national organization.

European language skills.

Ability to convey complex technical subjects in laymans terms (making technical subjects more ‘accessible’ to all). Ability to understand and become familiar with new technologies and concepts very quickly. High degree of competence using standard PC productivity applications. Excellent presentation skills.
