Kingston Technology Adds Ontrack EasyRecovery Software to its CompactFlash Ultimate Cards
Featuring Increased Write Speed of 133x and a New 8-GB Card for Higher Capacity

[Photokina, 26 September 2006] Kingston Technology, the world’s leading independent memory manufacturer, today announced the upgrading its “Ultimate” line of CompactFlash memory cards by preloading the cards with Ontrack’s EasyRecovery Professional software version 6.1. Aimed at professional and advanced amateur photographers, the new software provides data recovery capabilities for lost digital photographs. In addition, Kingston Technology will increase the sustained write speed from 100x to 133x on its 2-GB and 4-GB CompactFlash Ultimate cards and will add a new 8-GB capacity card with a write speed of 133x to the line.

EasyRecovery Professional version 6.1 is the latest data recovery software from Ontrack. Designed to retrieve photographs that have been corrupted or accidentally deleted, the software provides a complete, easy-to-use interface to recover photographs, providing photographers with added peace of mind and greater image protection.

The write speed of a CompactFlash card, along with the speed of the camera itself, determines how quickly photographs can be stored on the CompactFlash card. Kingston Technology’s 2, 4 and 8-GB CompactFlash Ultimate cards (rated 133x) can efficiently write images to the card as they are continuously captured by the camera, allowing a seamless flow of imaging information from camera to memory card, maximising the overall speed and functionality of the digital camera system.

The new 8-GB CompactFlash Ultimate card with a 133x write speed, provides a powerful solution for photographers who are using more advanced imaging applications and demand both the additional storage and speed of a high-capacity flash memory card. When used in conjunction with matching high-performance digital cameras, Kingston Technology’s 8-GB CompactFlash Ultimate card will provide ultra-fast transfer times with read speeds up to 23 MB/sec, with write speeds up to 20 MB/sec.

Jim Selby, Product Marketing Manager EMEA, Kingston Technology comments, “The demand for higher speed and image recovery software is fast growing among professional photographers and serious amateurs. The latest CompactFlash Ultimate cards from Kingston Technology are designed to meet these growing demands and will offer the next generation in flash memory technology.”

Kingston Technology’s CompactFlash Ultimate cards are 100-percent tested and come with a lifetime warranty and 24/7 technical support.
