Kingston Technology Celebrates Decade of Trading Across the EMEA
[30 October 2006] This week sees Kingston Technology - the world’s leading independent memory manufacturer - celebrate
10 years of successful trading across the EMEA. Based in Sunbury-On-Thames, Kingston Technology Europe shipped its first order of memory
modules to Simms International plc, on the 4th November 1996, which consisted of Apple systems modules ranging from 2MB to 64MB
costing 93,203 USD. Alongside Simms International plc, Kingston Technology also forged partnerships with many leading resellers
including, SCC and Computacenter UK Ltd, highly successful relationships which continue to be as strong today as ever.
Initially launching with a small team of 49 people, Kingston Technology Europe shipped 19,184 units within its first year of trading,
generating 2.2 million US Dollars in revenue. Since 1996, Kingston Technology’s European headquarters have transformed in to a
multi-million US Dollar distribution centre servicing EMEA channel partners in over 40 countries. Kingston Technology Europe now
employs 201 people across the EMEA and has shipped over 18,980,377 units during the first three quarters of 2006, generating revenues
of 720,000,000 US Dollars. Since 1996 unit shipments have multiplied 989 times and revenues have multiplied 326 times. The company
is now on target to reach sales in excess of 900million US Dollars by the end of 2006.
