Kingston Technology 2006 Sales Jump to $3.7 Billion
A Thriving Flash Sector Combined with OEM, ValueRAM and HyperX Divisions Exceeds Expectations
[28 February 2007] Kingston Technology, the world’s leading independent memory manufacturer, today announced
that revenue figures for the year 2006 have climbed to $3.7 billion. This signifies a revenue increase of $400 million on 2005,
far exceeding initial sales forecasts and marks the highest revenues the company has attained in its 20-year history.
John Tu, Co-Founder, Kingston Technology comments, “Reaching $3.7 billion as we turn 20 is remarkable. Our continued growth is
proof that our commitment to providing the highest levels of product quality and service has kept strong throughout our history”.
David Sun, Co-Founder, Kingston Technology comments, “Kingston’s focus on Flash over the last few years has met with great success.
We took time to enter this new market and worked closely with partners to develop the Flash area for Kingston.”
Kingston Technology broke the $1 billion sales mark in 1995, surpassed $2 billion in sales during 2004 and reached $3 billion in sales
throughout 2005. Factors marking the $3 billion milestone include, performance increases in several key business areas and a greater
focus on expanding production in developing global memory markets.
In recent years, Kingston Technology has placed a greater emphasis on its Flash memory division, its ValueRAM line of industry standard
memory and its PC OEM business. Kingston Technology’s HyperX memory has also gained a strong reputation and increased sales within the
niche high performance gaming market.
Kingston Technology has a respected reputation for high-quality products and expertise in the memory industry. It cites strong
relationships with its employees, vendors and customers as an integral part of its success. Having started its first year of business
with only two employees and $120,000 in annual sales, Kingston Technology is now the largest independent memory manufacturer in the world,
with over 3,300 employees worldwide.
