Kingston Technology Showcases Tech Demo of Staggering 24GB Memory Configuration
First 24GB technology demo running virtualisation applications on a desktop

London, UK -- March 2, 2009 -- Kingston Technology Europe Ltd, a subsidiary of Kingston Technology Company, Inc., the independent world leader in memory products, recently published a video which demonstrates a desktop PC equipped with six 4GB DDR3 ValueRAM modules, resulting in an immense 24GB memory setup. The video, which so far has fascinated over 110,000 viewers, can be seen here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=us-pktP-Q_g.

“In order to demonstrate that the system does run steadily, a VMware workstation was turned on, along with 9 VM clients running simultaneously. Each virtual instance was then allocated about 2G of memory,” said Mark Tekunoff, Senior Technology Manager, Kingston Technology. “Additionally, a copy of Crysis was turned on in the last VM, the equivalent of 10 computers running on one desktop computer. A professional gamer obviously wouldn’t choose to play this way, but it was a great way to prove that the system worked perfectly!” The equipment of the desktop included an Intel 920 Core i7 CPU a Gigabyte GA-EX58 UD5 motherboard and NVidia graphics card.
