DreamHack Bucharest 2013 with the HyperX crew, Lab501 and SK Gaming

In September, DreamHack madness reached Bucharest for its second major event—and what an event it was! With one of the strongest Korean line-up ever, the anticipation for the StarCraft 2 battles built up quickly and as soon as the games started. Thousands of people appeared to celebrate the games with us at our booth.

The HyperX team was prepared to answer questions from our fans, and was giving away our infamous raffle tickets. With great HyperX awards to be won, the raffle tickets were gone pretty fast! Culminating at 4pm each day, the huge crowd patiently waited for the numbers to be drawn. The crowd was so big we had to enlist some Romanian arm wrestlers help us toss the giveaways to the fans.

Our booth was constantly busy with our challenge a pro-gamer sessions with SK Gaming’s League of Legends pro, Patrick ‘Nyph’ Funke. People were lining up for the battle, and despite the odds some of them won! The winner took home some HyperX memory and some street-cred for beating a pro-gamer!

Our booth at Dreamhack Bucharest would not have been complete without the attendance of our other sponsored pro-gamers. Local resident Romanian FIFA player, Marian ‘NiGhT’ Avram from Clan Poland participated in our infamous ‘find a pro-gamer’ challenge.

Last but not least we were also working hard at our live overclocking station. Using the strength of Monstru from Lab501, we’ve managed to achieve 4280MHz memory frequency! With the help from some liquid nitrogen combined with the excitement from our crowd of fans, we earned number 5 spot in the world for the memory frequency records!
