What is the purpose of this firmware?

I get a "bad command or missing interpreter" error when I boot from the firmware disk. How do I resolve this?
If your CD/DVD drive is external, the firmware update will not work with some external CD/DVD drives.
The solution is to either use a different external CD/DVD drive or update the SSD in a computer with an internal CD/DVD drive.
If you are using an internal CD/DVD drive and get this error, try changing all the SATA ports in the BIOS to IDE compatibility mode, not just the port the SSD is connected to.
FAQ: KSD-032411-FW-15
Can I apply the update myself?
Yes, complete instructions can be found at
www.kingston.com/support/ssdnow/v100_firmware.asp
Kingston strongly recommends that a data backup be performed before applying the available firmware revision. If you have questions, please contact technical support for additional assistance.

When I try to run the firmware update with my internal SATA II DVD/Blu-Ray drive, I get a "Enter the full shell command line" error. Why?
It may be due to you using a combo drive that included Blu-Ray.
Try using an older drive that was just CD-ROM/DVD only.
