Does the FCR-HS3 reader work with SDXC cards?

This reader does support SDXC cards. Be aware that most SDXC cards will use the exFAT file system. Most devices that accept SDXC cards, like digital cameras, read this file system. Therefore you should make sure the operating system on your computer will support exFAT or can be updated to support exFAT.

Windows states that the reader is installed properly, but a drive letter (or letters) is not assigned for the reader. There are mapped network drives on this computer. How do I resolve this?

Windows assigns new drive letters to the next available physical drive. It will sometimes take the same drive letter as a network drive for this reason. This is a common problem with removable storage devices. Please use the following procedure to resolve this problem.

  1. With the reader pluggedinto a USB port, right-click on “Computer” (or “My Computer”) located on yourdesktop or under the Start menu on the Task Bar and select “Manage”.
  2. Select Disk Management onthe left window pane.
  3. Locate the reader on theright window pane.
  4. Right-click on the driveand select “Change Drive Letter and Paths” and assign it a new drive letterthat is not being used by a mapped network drive.
  5. Go back to “Computer” andopen it to see if the reader is assigned the drive letter you chose.

When I insert the reader into the USB port on my keyboard, monitor, USB hub or in the front of my tower, the unit is either not recognised or I receive an error message. Why?

This is due to a power limitation. Though some USB devices may work fine in these USB ports, USB 2.0 High Speed devices usually require more power. In order to resolve this issue, you will need to insert the reader directly into one of the main USB ports. These USB ports are usually located in the back of the tower.

I previously had the FCR-HS219/1 installed. Will the 19-in-1 icon utility work with the FCR-HS3 reader?

Since the FCR-HS3 is based on a new design, the 19-in-1 icon utility is not compatible and it may cause the FCR-HS3 not to function properly. You should uninstall the 19-1 icon utility before using the FCR-HS3 reader.
