The Industrial Engineer is responsible for optimizing and improving processes from warehouse operations, material handling, and final product distribution. The position supports Global Supply Chain Management team to determine standardized works, process throughputs and labor standards in accordance with the most cost-effective ways to use the basic factors of production, people, machines, materials, information, and energy. In parallel, focuses on how to increase productivity at Kingston DC’s and 3PL hubs by applying industrial engineering practices along with data collection, mathematical modeling, system simulations, and advanced technologies.

  • Defines optimal process flow from receiving, warehousing to distribution processes to meet both internal and external customers’ requirements.
  • Designs layouts and executes final plan with facility engineers based on business strategies and order fulfillment requirements to streamline process flow, allocate proper footprint for process, and reduce travel distance.
  • Establishes best practices and creates work instructions & SOPs to support Kingston DC & 3PL’s daily operations and order fulfillment. Coordinates with oversea counterparts to implement the same standards globally.
  • Conducts studies and provides engineered suggestions to improve process gap among DC’s and 3PL hubs, justify capital investment for new machine and equipment and layout, and achieve maximum productivity in the most cost-effective fashion.
  • Understands WMS and works with SCM team to prioritize material usage following FIFO or other pre-defined business rules.
  • Reviews process and identifies any process improvement initiatives lead to greater results in all areas of Kingston business.
  • Obtains data resides in ERP and database applications to proceed data analysis to aid in financial planning, cost analysis, and inquiries from process stakeholders.
  • Develops methods for tracking and reporting warehouse key performance indicators.
  • Performs other duties as assigned to role.

  • Between two and five years of related Industrial Engineering experience within the Distribution Center or Fulfillment Center environment.
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects, along with the ability to follow through with all assignments.
  • Ability to cooperate with others in a team environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with any Warehouse Management systems is a plus.
  • Experience with AutoCAD preferred.
  • Good understanding of continuous improvement and processes.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or any STEM degree is preferred.
