The Electrical Technician will be responsible for the maintenance of all facility heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), chiller system, air compressors, equipment and repair services. Perform system evaluations, establish operational efficiency, schedule, and oversee the maintenance of infrastructure and equipment. Provide technical expertise and assistance to the Facilities and Production staff largely in the areas of mechanical engineering, electrical or controls engineering and project management.

  • Assesses the facility’s resource requirements, that includes designing and optimizing the facility’s layout and critical operational systems.
  • Assists in developing and implementing utility plans.
  • Performs maintenance and improvement of manufacturing plant and facility.
  • Responds to daily requests for maintenance, update maintenance records in database.
  • Coordinates/schedules preventative maintenance according to department schedules and ISO/ESH requirements.
  • Requests bids and negotiates contracts with vendors and contractors.
  • Schedules and oversees construction and maintenance performed by contractors.
  • Ensures compliance by maintaining safety and building codes, required inspections and permits.
  • Acts as team leader on facilities projects as needed.

  • At least three (3) years of experience that includes facilities maintenance, drafting, creating drawings, read blueprints, testing electronics, and developing electrical systems.
  • Knowledge of facilities management principles, construction design, and/or general maintenance techniques.
  • Must understand complex electrical systems.
  • Ability to calculate building and transformer electrical loads.
  • Ability to read and explain Electrical Ladder Diagrams.
  • Advanced mathematical skills for calculating of design equations.
  • Effective verbal and written English communication skills, with excellent customer service skills.
  • Excellent writing skills for preparing manuals, parts lists, proposals and other related documentation.
  • Must be self-motivated to learn current electrical advances and new technologies
  • Excellent organization skills to effectively manage multiple tasks and projects to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with customers and team members.
  • Intermediate level computer skills, including Email, Internet research, Microsoft Office, AutoCAD

  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs.
  • Availability to work flexible hours and On-Call hours.
  • Valid CA Driver’s License.
  • Current, valid CA Electrician License is preferred, not required.


High school diploma or equivalent
