Job Details - Paralegal - Fountain Valley, CA

Department: Corporate Development

The Paralegal will be an integral member of the Legal team providing a range of legal and administrative support. This role will help drive process improvements and greater efficiency that will allow the Legal team to better support Kingston’s business, with a service-oriented attitude and commitment to a smart business partnership.

  • Oversees the contract management system/ databases utilized by the Legal team and assists with general legal files organization.
  • Assists in contract review, negotiation, and management of various agreements.
  • Researches, analyzes, and summarizes information from a variety of sources including other departments, government offices, websites, and hard copy files.
  • Manages and maintains trademark portfolio, performs on-line searches of Patent and Trademark Office (PTO) records, and assists with trademark prosecution, maintenance and enforcement matters.
  • Manages corporate organization issues (e.g. required filings).
  • Assists with other special projects and performs general administrative duties as assigned.

  • High degree of organizational and time management skills with ability to prioritize tasks and responsibilities and shift when necessary
  • Strong attention to detail, accurate, and accountable
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to review basic transactional documents and work with numerous templates
  • Proven track record of creative problem solving and ability to influence decision making
  • Ability to take initiative to keep workflow moving, anticipate needs of attorneys, and move ideas forward
  • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively interact with attorneys, other business units, executives, and outside counsel as part of a team
  • Strong proficiency with key tools including Microsoft office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision to accomplish required objectives within established deadlines
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, professionalism and discretion; have good judgment and a positive attitude
  • Commute to the LA area on occasions
  • Notary public or ability to become a notary public preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree, Paralegal certificate, or equivalent work experience required
