Will adding Kingston void your customer’s system memory?

Kingston has heard of instances where a computer manufacturer’s sales representative has told customers if they use third-party memory in the manufacturer’s computer system, the warranty is voided. This may not be true—they may be attempting to coerce customers into purchasing memory modules from the system manufacturer, usually at much higher prices than Kingston’s. Please ask customers to confirm such a requirement is in the manufacturer agreement. Even so, such a requirement may be illegal if it unreasonably restrains trade or lessens market competition. Customers should consult their attorney on this.
