Attempting to access online account through the IronKey device & SafeMode:
There are two ways to access a personal online account, either through the device itself or through a web browser at http://my.ironkey.com
To access an online account through the device, users would click on the “Online Account” button in the IronKey control panel. This would prompt a browser window to open and the user would be taken to the account automatically.

To access an online account via SafeMode, users would visit https://my.ironkey.com in a web browser to log in. The user would need to enter their username & password credentials to log in.

Prior to 1 January 2020, users will receive a splash warning message stating that their online account will no longer be available. The online account features can still be used during this time.

As of 1 January 2020, users will be directed to the splash message stating that they can no longer access their online account. At this point, users will no longer have access to use the Password Recovery/Backup and Identity Manager Restore/Backup features.

Attempting to back up device password for password recovery:
If users change their password in the control panel and leave the “Backup my password to Online Account” checkbox selected, two error messages will be displayed:

Password backup error 1: Clicking OK will result in the final error message

Password backup error 2: Clicking OK and deselecting the “Backup my password to Online Account” box will resolve this error. In future, however, the new password will no longer be backed up for recovery.

Attempting to use Identity Manager Backup/Restore:
The IronKey Identity Manager securely stores your online passwords and allows you to back them up to your Online Security Vault within your online account.

After the online account shuts down on 1 January 2020, users will receive a message stating that “An internal Error Occurred” when attempting to back up or restore their Identity Manager data to their online vault. This message indicates that Identity Manager will no longer be able to communicate with the Online Vault.
