Job Details - Business Manager - Fountain Valley, CA

Department: KDI Business Management

The Business Manager will be responsible for the management and growth of Kingston’s overall global business for specified products from product development to market success; provide strategic direction and work collaboratively with various staff, such as regional sales teams, marketing, planning/procurement, engineering and other support teams to ensure company sales goals and overall product satisfaction goals are achieved. In addition to the following Essential Functions, other related responsibilities may be assigned.

Essential Functions:

  • Define and update product roadmap and product positioning through market research and collaboration with engineering and technology resource groups.
  • Work closely with all departments involved in the Product Definition (PD) and New Product Introduction (NPI) processes to ensure smooth and timely product launches.
  • First point of contact for all internal departments regarding product roadmap and positioning, product launches, changes and updates; provide updates on potential issues that may affect current strategies.
  • Assist sales teams with customer inquiries and unique opportunities, such as, private label/customization, large quantities above normal run rate, special BOM requirements, aggressive price inquires, discontinued product inquiries.
  • Gather competitor specifications to ensure Kingston’s products are competitive and utilizing the latest technology standards.
  • Track and analyze competitive pricing in all regions; establish worldwide pricing to meet unit volume, revenue and profitability goals.
  • Analyze and evaluate regional market demands and conditions.
  • Review weekly pricing and sales reporting to determine ideal costs and price points required to move products to achieve Company goals.
  • Monitor inventory levels in contrast to monthly and quarterly sales targets.


  • Eight years of Product Management, Sales or Marketing experience.
  • Minimum four years of related experience in a computer hardware business.
  • Skilled in product roadmap planning, product positioning and performance.
  • Knowledge of product launch and product life cycle management.
  • Ability to assess, propose and share best practices on business initiatives.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of market, product specifications, competitive pricing, product availability, product positioning.
  • Must be able to influence and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple responsibilities with changing priorities.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in business, sales, marketing or related field.

Special Requirement:

  • Domestic and international business travel, approximately four to six times per year.
