Job Details - Field Sales Account Manager - Fountain Valley, CA

Department: US Sales

Under general supervision, the position of Industrial Distribution Field Sales is to assist with the overall growth of Kingston’s distribution accounts in a given territory across the US and Canada. Establish and maintain contact with major accounts to secure Kingston Technology business and increase overall brand/sales exposure within the assigned distribution accounts. Work closely with Kingston Inside Sales team to facilitate day to day account operations.

Essential Functions:

  • Call on industrial distribution accounts and locations to grow the business.
  • Be on site at industrial distributor locations and indirect customer locations 75% or more of the time
  • Act as liaison between Kingston Inside Sales and Kingston End User Field Sales at the accounts supported by industrial distributors (contract manufacturers, end customers, partners)
  • Prepare materials for communication at site visits
  • Conduct trainings, participate in events, and support all sales/marketing activities
  • Coordinate with supplier management to identify and maintain access to critical personnel, programs and events, and provide feedback to Kingston Management on ways to effectively grow Kingston Market Share within the distributors
  • Prospect sales representatives and field application engineers for information that will help grow our overall market share and presence within the account
  • Work with inside sales staff to manage end user projects and pricing for industrial distributors and their account base
  • Follow up on projects and opportunities with industrial distribution sales representatives and field application engineers
  • Establish and maintain relationships/visibility with the executive staff at industrial distributors. Engage Kingston management when appropriate
  • Assist in the development and implementation of Kingston’s marketing plans at industrial distributors

Required: Preferably a bachelor’s degree in sales, marketing, communications or related field and/or equivalent education or experience. In depth knowledge of industrial distribution channel (Examples: Arrow, Avnet, Future Electronics, etc) and their customer base. Five years of strong end user sales experience within a domestic U.S. district or region.

Desirable: Computer industry experience.

Knowledge: Sales and marketing principles, concepts, methods and practices; customers’ and competitors’ terminology and products; customer service principles and techniques.

Skills/Abilities: Strong profiling, communication, interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills. Effective presentation and training skills are also necessary. Ability to meet deadlines and utilize sound, independent judgement at all times. Collaborative and works well with others. Proficient with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint applications. Responsively adapt to changing work priorities; communicate effectively with customers and internal departments. Self-motivated and able to work on several tasks simultaneously. Passion for learning.

Special Requirements/Certification: Ability to travel at least/up to 75%. In depth knowledge of DRAM/NAND Industry is highly valued. Preferred location based in Denver, CO or Orange County, CA. Other strategic market locations can be considered.
