Job Details - Compliance Specialist - Fountain Valley, CA
Department: Operational Compliance
Under general supervision, the Compliance Specialist will support our Corporate Social Responsibilities (CSR) initiatives by collecting, analyzing, and reporting sustainability-related Environment Health and Safety (EHS) metrics and respond to CSR information request. Help analyze and identify areas of improvement in EHS management and monitor EHS performance. In addition to the following Essential Functions, other related work may be required.

Essential Functions:

  • Help develop and support Corporate Social Responsibilities (CSR) policies and guidelines
  • Help with CSR Trainings and presentations
  • Build relationships with non-profit organizations and develop partnerships
  • Implement and coordinate a range of activities and initiatives which are designed to have a positive impact on the environment and local communities.
  • Support the CSR program by collecting, analyzing, and reporting sustainability-related EHS metrics
  • Responding to CSR information requests. Lead the drafting of the EHS portion of the Carbon Disclosure Project reporting and annual Sustainability report.
  • Support CSR communications by developing formal internal and external communications
  • Analyze metrics to identify opportunities for improvement amid the key elements to successful EHS management such as regulatory compliance, risk assessment, communication, self-audit, and senior leadership engagement.
  • Monitor EHS performance, injury and illness data, environmental incidents, inspections, environmental monitoring results.

Qualification Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Science, Psychology, Marketing, Public Relations, or similar field
  • 3-5 years of experience in Environmental Health and Safety, Philanthropy Development, or Corporate Marketing
  • Ability to influence peers and managers
  • Must be self-motivated, well organized, and have strong interpersonal skills
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills necessary to effectively collaborate in a team environment and to present and communicate technical information to all levels of the organization and external contacts
  • Demonstrate analytical and decision-making skills with the ability to organize and effectively coordinate multiple and frequently conflicting, concurrent tasks, with good follow-through.
  • Ability to balance numerous short-term and long-term responsibilities, including prioritizing on a day-to-day basis as events require, but also achieving traction on long-term initiatives
  • Experience with philanthropy preferred
  • Experience with ISO 14001/18001/45001 or ISO management systems preferred
  • Some international travel will be required
