2013 Flash Press Release
Kingston DataTraveler SE9 is Honored with iF Product Design Award
Fountain Valley, CA -- March 7, 2013 -- Kingston Digital, Inc., the Flash memory affiliate of Kingston Technology Company, Inc., the independent world leader in memory products, today announced that the Kingston® DataTraveler® SE9 USB Flash drive has received the prestigious iF Product Design Award. The award has been globally recognized for over 60 years as a trademark for successful design of products in different categories. Kingston received the award within the "Computer" category. A panel of experts chose this year´s winners among 3,011 submissions.
For the final decision, the panel considered design quality, manufacture and choice of material next to the degree of innovation, environmental sustainability, functionality and ergonomic design criteria. Factors such as security, brand value and branding were also assessed by the panel when selecting the winning product design.
The iF award-winning DataTraveler SE9 USB Flash drive has a stylish metal casing with a large key loop that lets users easily attach the drive to a lanyard or key ring. The small form factor makes it a great accessory for notebooks like Intel’s Ultrabook™ PCs, as well as tablets that offer USB ports. Its durable casing lets users securely carry this drive everywhere they go with their new devices. The DataTraveler SE9 is available in capacities of up to 64GB. In addition to the existing DataTraveler SE9, the drive also comes with a 24-karat gold-plated casing, called DataTraveler GE9. DTGE9 was designed by industrial designer Arman Emami, who previously won the product design award in the widely recognized Red Dot Industrial Design contest.
"Kingston is very proud that our product got such a famous design award for the second time," said Andrew Ewing, USB business manager, Kingston. "We always thrive on providing technically reliable products with contemporary and high-quality features. This award encourages us to continue working hard on producing products with exceptional designs."
The iF product design award was announced on February 22, 2013 at the iF design award ceremony in Munich, Germany. Thomas Marschner (Kingston Vice President Sales and Marketing, EMEA) and Christian Marhöfer (Kingston Regional Director) accepted the award on behalf of Kingston.
