Update system BIOS immediately following memory upgrade. Press "F2" to enter BIOS Setup when device is powered on. On the first screen under "System Memory" user should see"Installed Size: 2048MB". Exit BIOS Setup and save changes.
If BIOS is not updated correctly, it may be possible that the system configuration information will not be updated and Operating System shows only 0.99GB of installed RAM.

System supports faster speed modules, but Intel Atom processor runs memory bus at up to 667MHz.
Although it is physically possible to install more memory, the Atom processor will only support up to 2GB maximum, per Intel Atom N550 specs.
