FORMAT PADA PC/NOTEBOOK WINDOWS
Ketik "This PC" pada jendela pencarian Windows, lalu tekan Enter. Cari dan sorot drive yang sesuai dengan pembaca kartu yang berisi kartu flash. Setelah itu, dengan tombol kanan mouse, klik kanan drive itu, lalu pilih "Format" dari menu yang muncul untuk mengakses utilitas format.

Pilih sistem file yang tepat untuk ukuran kartu dan perangkat yang akan dipasangkan dengan kartu flash itu. Sebagai catatan, ukuran 2 GB ke bawah (kapasitas standar) seharusnya menggunakan FAT, sedangkan ukuran 4 GB hingga 32 GB (Kapasitas Tinggi) biasanya menggunakan FAT32. My flash card no longer works in my device or I can no longer view files saved to the card. Can the files on the card be recovered?

Go to www.download.com and do a search for data recovery and download one of the many data recovery utilities, which are fairly simple to use. We suggest trying one of the free versions as they work just as well as the paid versions. Please note: If the computer cannot see the drive in question, unfortunately the recovery software will not be able to see the drive and recovery will not be an option with recovery software. Therefore, if the drive is not recognized, please refer to option 2 below.
Contact a company that specializes in data recovery services such as Driver Savers at www.drivesavers.com and Ontrack at www.ontrack.com just to name a couple or you can do a search on Google for data recovery.

Why is my Secure Digital card running slower after I formatted the card with my computer?

Secure Digital cards including SDHC, SDXC and Micro SD cards come pre-formatted in compliance with SD Memory Card standards. Formatting with Windows, Mac or Linux is not compliant with SD Memory Card standards and may cause a performance decrease.

The solution is to either format the card in a device that complies with SDA standards, such as a camera or phone, or use the SDA format utility located here:

Be aware this is only compatible with the following Windows operating systems. It will not work in a Linux computer, so using a SDA compatible device is preferable.

In the options section, we suggest you use the "QUICK" selected as the format type and have the format adjustment size set to "ON".

Are Kingston SD and microSD cards compatible with commercial grade equipment such as security cameras, exercise equipment, etc?

Most Kingston SD and microSD cards are designed to be used in consumer products such as hand held cameras, cell phones, MP3 players, GPS devices, etc. Commercial grade equipment should use industrial grade cards. Kingston cards will work in commercial grade equipment, but they are not appropriate for this type of application.

My flash card is not seen by my device or shows a card error in the device, but it works OK in another device. Why?

Depending on what the device supports, you may be running into a incompatibility related issue. To confirm, you should refer to your device’s user manual for assistance. Please see below for more details.

Card Type - With various card types available, it's important to make sure you are using one that is supported by your device. For example, some card types include: SDHC, SDXC, and SDUC. Although some devices may support all three card types, older devices may only support one or two. Please check your devices user manual to confirm which card types it supports.

Card Capacity - Along with card types, there is also card capacity. With card capacities ranging from less than 2GB up to 128TB and above, it is important to confirm which capacities are supported by the device in question.

File System - The File System can also cause support related symptoms. With the various card capacities comes different File Systems, such as FAT, NTFS, and exFAT to name a few. Please check your devices user manual to confirm which File Systems are supported. If your card is utilizing an unsupported File System, you may be able to resolve by reformatting the card with a compatible File System.

Can I boot from this Kingston flash card, set it as a fixed disk or run an OS from it?

No. We do not support our flash cards as bootable devices, fixed disks or something you can run an OS from.

Question 7

My flash card that is above 32GB shows up as not formatted in my device after formatting it in Windows. Why?

Accepted Answer

Many devices that use flash cards only recognize the FAT32 file system. Windows will automatically default the file system to exFAT for any removable storage device above 32GB. It will not give the option to format is FAT32. When you insert this card into your device, it will see the card as not formatted. The best practice is to format the card in the device you primarily use the card with.
