Job Details - Distribution Account Manager - Buffalo, NY
Department: US Sales
Under general supervision, the position of Distribution Account Manager is to assist with the overall growth of Kingston’s business into their assigned accounts. Establish and maintain contact with all contacts at the distribution partners and engage Kingston management when needed. Work to secure Kingston Technology business and increase overall sales exposure and brand awareness within an account. Work closely with Kingston Inside Sales and support to facilitate day to day account operations. Candidate must also be able to manage day to day tasks related to their accounts and the rest of the distribution team such as but not limited to daily quotes, reports, pricing feedback, team back up and monthly reports.

Essential Functions:

  • Call on distribution accounts to develop and grow market share and brand presence for all Kingston product lines and business units. Assigned account will be Ingram Micro.
  • Recruit and develop indirect reseller partners through distribution account. Target key vertical markets and VAR communities to maximize Kingston exposure into accounts.
  • Extensive travel required to distribution accounts, distribution events and all other travel related to the growth and development of the assigned accounts and Kingston.
  • Act as liaison between Kingston Inside Sales, Kingston End User Field Sales and Kingston Reseller Field sales to help facilitate the Kingston brand and increase Kingston sales.
  • Work closely with marketing on developing materials and programs for communication to assigned accounts. Assist in the planning and execution of Kingston’s marketing plans at assigned accounts and measure ROI.
  • Conduct trainings at distribution locations, field shows and/or any other locations that will benefit Kingston and the distribution partners.
  • Prospect distribution representatives and indirect resellers for information that will help the end user team build their accounts.
  • Work with inside sales staff to generate pricing for primary focus accounts.
  • Follow up on special pricing opportunities on a weekly basis. Proactively work with the distribution sales team and managers to find new opportunities as well.
  • Act as a dedicated team member and help out other field and inside account managers when needed. This might include backing up other accounts, over flow calls, processing bids and other daily functions.

Required: Preferably a Bachelor’s degree in sales, marketing, communications or related field and/or equivalent education or experience. Five years of strong computer distribution sales experience. Extensive Ingram Micro Sales Experience is strongly preferred.

Desirable: Computer industry experience.

Knowledge: Sales and marketing principles, concepts, methods and practices; customers, competitor’s terminology and products; customer service principles and techniques.

Skills/Abilities: Strong profiling, communication, interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills. Presentation and training skills are also necessary; Ability to meet deadlines and utilize sound independent judgement at all times; Utilize word processing and spreadsheet application programs. Responsively adapt to changing work priorities; communicate effectively with customers, and internal departments. Work on several tasks simultaneously.

Special Requirements/Certification: Ability to travel; Home office capability. Candidates will be considered in Buffalo, NY area.
