Important Configuration Notes

  • Mac Pro (Mid 2010) supports up to four SSD drives in the 3.5" drive bays (1 + 3 empty drive bays). Requires purchase of SNA-DC2/35 drive carrier to secure the drive.
  • Do not mix ECC Registered DIMMs (KTA-MP1333DR or 1066QR) with ECC Unbuffered UDIMMs (KTA-MP1333). When installing 8GB RDIMMs, remove any other memory or system will not start up.
  • This system supports triple channel mode when three identical modules are installed per processor. Kingston offers K3 kits to optimize performance. When using two processors (2CPU) kits must be installed IN PAIRS.
  • This system supports DDR3 1066MHz (KTA-MP1066) and 1333MHz (KTA-MP1333) memory depending on processor model. Uses quad-core and 6-core Nehalem and Westmere processors. Totals 8-core and 12-cores with two processors installed.
  • Quad Rank modules run at 1066MHz (1DPC), but clock down to 800MHz when fully populated (2DPC).
