This system supports either Registered ECC or Unbuffered ECC memory. Mixing Registered ECC and Unbuffered ECC modules is not supported within this system.
Maximum 384GB configuration is achieved using 24 16GB dual-rank RDIMMs. There is a maximum support limitation of 8 ranks per memory channel (maximum of 2 quad-rank DIMMs per channle).

No more than two ECC UDIMMs may be installed per channel. It is recommended to install UDIMMs in first and third banks, leaving second bank (sockets 2, 5, 8, and 11) open.
4GB DDR3-1333 Reg ECC modules come in two versions: 313/4G using x4 and 3138/4G using x8 DRAM. The two parts may be installed in the same system but not within the same memory bank. Use like modules for dual and triple channel operation.
