AMD 4th Generation EPYC Processor Platform “Genoa”

Based on AMD’s “Zen 4” microarchitecture, the 4th Generation AMD EPYC processor platform code-named “Genoa” targets 1P and 2P servers. AMD’s first DDR5 server system supports memory speeds up to 4800MT/s across twelve memory channels per processor, with up to 96 cores (192 threads), 128 PCIe Gen 5 lanes, 64 lanes for CXL 1.1+, and built on 5nm lithography, this processor platform revolutionizes data center capabilities for today and tomorrow’s compute demands.

Memory Architecture

12 channels of memory

Memory architecture is based on twelve channels arranged in two banks per processor. Each processor can be configured with 12 or 24 modules, depending on the motherboard layout, to achieve the maximum aggregated memory bandwidth.
