The AMD Ryzen Threadripper and Ryzen Threadripper PRO 9000 and 7000-series processors deliver high-performance computing power to the workstation and high-end desktop segment with features derived from the AMD EPYC server processor. The Threadripper PRO 9000 WX and 7000 WX-series pairs with the WRX90 chipset, which features an 8-channel DDR5 memory architecture and support for up to 148 PCIe 5.0 lanes. The Threadripper 9000 and 7000-series pairs with the TRX50 chipset, targeting the high-end desktop segment and featuring a 4-channel DDR5 memory architecture with up to 92 PCIe 5.0 lanes.
Both platforms use DDR5 Registered DIMM server-class memory and support standard speeds of up to 6400MT/s and 5200MT/s. Processor models that support EXPO can also take advantage of overclockable RDIMMs on compatible motherboards and systems.
Memory architecture is based on 4 and 8 channels arranged in up to one bank per processor. Depending on the processor model and chipset, they can be configured with either 4 or 8 modules to achieve the maximum aggregated memory bandwidth.
