Intel® Eagle Stream Platform: 4th & 5th Gen Xeon Scalable Processors

The Intel^® Eagle Stream platform supports the 4th and 5th generation Intel^® Xeon^® Scalable Processors (code-named "Sapphire Rapids" and "Emerald Rapids"), and provides a foundation for diverse server configurations, ranging from 1P to 8P systems. As Intel's first server platform designed for DDR5 memory, it offers eight memory channels per processor and is built upon the advanced Intel 7 process technology with enhanced SuperFin technology.

Eagle Stream incorporates next-generation industry standards, including PCIe 5.0 and Compute Express Link (CXL) 1.1 to deliver enhanced connectivity and performance. It also leverages Intel^® Advanced Matrix Extensions (AMX) to provide built-in AI acceleration, optimising demanding deep learning and machine learning workloads. This potent combination makes Eagle Stream a powerful platform for a wide spectrum of data center applications, representing a significant leap forward in computing power and enabling new capabilities from edge to cloud.

Memory architecture

Memory architecture is based on eight channels arranged in two banks per processor. Each processor can be configured with 8 or 16 modules, depending on the motherboard layout, to achieve the maximum aggregated memory bandwidth.
